Parallel Protocol: Modular CDP Stablecoin Across Multiple Chains
2026-07-23
Parallel Protocol is an over-collateralised, decentralised, and modular stablecoin protocol. Users deposit yield-bearing assets into the Parallelizer, the core CDP module, and mint USDP: the protocol's USD-pegged stablecoin. The modular design allows the protocol to plug into different collateral types and DeFi primitives across chains, currently live on Hyperliquid L1, Ethereum, Base, and Avalanche.
Revenue comes from two sources: yield accrued by yield-bearing collateral held in the Parallelizer, and burn fees charged when users redeem USDP for collateral. The DAO Treasury takes 9% of net surplus accrual before June 2026, and 10% afterwards: a governance change that required the adapter to apply different splits based on block timestamps. The remaining 90-91% goes to sUSDp stakers as a savings yield.
The adapter reads SurplusAccrued events from the Parallelizer contract, captures gross surplus from collateral yield and redemption fees, and applies the time-based DAO commission percentage to derive protocol revenue. The governance parameter change at a specific date is a pattern that comes up often in DeFi adapters: protocols update fee parameters through governance without migrating contracts, so the adapter has to carry the history of what rate was in effect at each block.
All-time fees stand at $155,600. This is a smaller protocol, but its multi-chain design and yield-subsidy mechanics make it representative of a broader category of productive-collateral CDP stablecoins that have been emerging across DeFi.
